Director’s Biography
Mr. Joe Carver is in his first year as Director of The Big Red Band. Joe is a 2002 graduate of Hilliard Darby High School,
where he was a percussionist in the band all four years. After graduating, Joe spent two summers on tour with The Cadets of
Bergen County Drum and Bugle Corps, where he was a member of their two-time world champion drumline. In 2005, he was
selected out of a nationwide audition tour to be a member of The Disneyland All-American College Band in Anaheim, California.
The following summer, Joe was the only individual selected to return to California to serve as the band’s assistant director.
Mr. Carver is a 2007 graduate of Ohio University. He was a five-year member of The Ohio University Marching 110, and spent three of those years as the percussion section leader and arranger.
Joe comes to Johnstown from Lakewood High School, where he served as the Assistant Director for one year.
