Alumni Spotlight
EMILY WILSON
Our next Big Red Band Alumni Spotlight belongs to Emily Wilson.
Emily is a 2015 Graduate of Johnstown-Monroe High School and played
the Flute in both Marching Band and Concert Band. She has so many fond
memories of making friends and playing on Friday nights. Her most
memorable Big Red Band event was traveling to Tampa, Florida and
playing in The Outback Bowl.
After graduation, Emily attended Ohio University and studied Early
Childhood Education. She has been teaching First Grade at Logan
Elementary School in Bellefontaine for six years. Emily still loves to play
music from time to time, bake, and take part in creative projects like paper
crafts, pottery, and crocheting. She also enjoys playing mini golf and
watching football with her fiancé, Avery. One of the many things Emily
learned as a member of the Big Red Band, was the importance of
Teamwork and how every single day this comes into play in both her
personal and professional life.
We would like to thank Emily for sharing her memories and life lessons
of being in the Big Red Band. We also wish her much more success in her
teaching career, congratulate her on her engagement, and wish her much
happiness with her future husband.
